HED - Landscape Architect

HED seeks a Landscape Architect with solid experience in the full breadth of landscape architecture planning, design, and construction documentation.

MDOT - Landscape Designer 9 - 12 Landscape Architect Project Development

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is a diverse, innovative agency of approximately 2,800 employees serving Michigan citizens in offices throughout the state. The Roadside Development Unit is a cross-functional unit of landscape architects/designers involved in policy, program, and project level development statewide.  This position functions is  responsible for preparing plans and proposal material, reviewing project-related documents, and checking final plans and specifications for projects involving the development of roadsides and other assignments involving a broad variety of subjects requiring unique solutions using the principles and practices of landscape architecture, including landscape plans, roadside right-of-way restoration, and turf grass.

This position also serves as a resource for rest area projects and other roadside facilities such as roadside parks and scenic turnouts, in addition to providing professional design and technical expertise to engineers and consultants for landscape architectural solutions for transportation projects in the MDOT program.  As support for turf grass (Turf Establishment Technical Resource), this position is responsible for research and development, maintaining Department Standard Specifications for Construction, field support, and is the industry liaison on turf technical issues, products, and materials.
